PTSD and Trauma

PTSD results from Trauma.  Trauma happens when the brain and body are so overwhelmed that they cannot ease out of the fight, flight or freeze responses.  The trauma becomes trapped, and therapy is needed for resolution.  We all have emotional wounds that could be small traumas. Many small traumas can create unwanted symptoms of distress, depression, fear and emptiness.  Sometimes we have difficulty identifying our traumas because they feel normal.  Other times our traumas are big and overwhelming.
