Supervision Services

I have been providing supervision since June 2013.  I use an integrative model of supervision using several approaches.  Bernard’s Discrimination Model uses three separate foci for supervision: intervention, conceptualization and personalization with the supervisor acting as teacher, counselor and consultant.  Using a systems approach I emphasize the relationship between supervisor and supervisee.  Both have power within the relationship and the quality of this relationship enhances the transference of knowledge.

My clinical focus is trauma using Ego states therapy.  Other therapy modalities I use are Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy, Somatic informed, EMDR, and Guided Meditations.  You can expect to learn how to get under the presenting symptoms and search for the origin of the problem.  All behaviors are present for a reason and the problematic symptoms began as the answer to the problem.  I help the client understand how behaviors developed and why they are no longer helpful.  Other areas of expertise are: substance dependency, relationship issues, dissociative disorders, PTSD as well as the impact of childhood traumas.

I teach a variety of techniques that can be used in session to help a new clinician go deeper in the session.  Mindfulness, meditations, experiential activities and using self as a part of therapy are all techniques that can be applied in session.

Good documentation is valuable for your case conceptualization and helps one assess progress.  Documentation does not have to be burdensome.  We will focus on concise and accurate documentation that meets insurance guidelines and adds value to your work.

Supervision should be an experience that grows your clinical skills, but also grows you personally, addressing your need for emotional support as your own core beliefs, traumas and triggers surface in session.  This is transference and countertransference.

Ethics is the foundation of our work.  The four pillars of justice, beneficence (doing good), non-maleficence (to do no harm) and autonomy will be the focus of all our ethical discussions.    Ethics is complex and should always be considered in everything we do.

Please email me at my dedicated email address (kbass@mybrighterdays.online) for a consultation if you are in need of supervision.

I am serving the Ellijay, GA area.
